Employee Spotlight – Beth Tanner

Beth Tanner is a Specialist at Breakwater Accounting + Advisory, bringing a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to her work every day. Originally from Michigan and now calling Indiana home, Beth’s Midwestern roots have shaped her strong work ethic and collaborative spirit. She studied Accounting and Business Management at Spring Arbor University, building a solid foundation that continues to guide her professional journey.

Before joining Breakwater, Beth built her career in the non-profit healthcare space, serving as an Accountant and Foundation Director at a non-profit hospital. In that role, she gained valuable experience supporting mission-driven organizations and managing complex financial needs with care and precision. This background allows her to bring both technical expertise and a people-first mindset to her work with clients and teammates.

When asked what she enjoys most about Breakwater, Beth points to the people. She appreciates how helpful and genuinely kind her colleagues are, making collaboration easy and the work environment supportive. Being part of a team that values connection and teamwork has made Breakwater a place where she feels both challenged and encouraged to grow.

Outside of work, Beth enjoys expressing her creativity through painting and woodworking. When she’s ready to relax and recharge, her favorite getaway is the Bahamas, where beautiful beaches and warm surroundings offer the perfect escape.
