Gretchen Holewinski is a Pod Leader at Breakwater Accounting + Advisory, known for her steady leadership and people-first approach. Born in Philadelphia and raised just outside of Boston, Gretchen now calls Bethel Park home. Her diverse background and life experiences have shaped the thoughtful, collaborative way she leads her team.
Gretchen studied Economics with a minor in Mathematics at Allegheny College, building strong analytical skills early on. Her career path is as unique as it is well-rounded—starting with her very first job in a bookstore, followed by time as a lifeguard, and later transitioning into non-profit accounting. Each role contributed to her adaptability, attention to detail, and appreciation for service-driven work.
At Breakwater, Gretchen values the people most. She appreciates the supportive, collaborative culture and the way team members genuinely care about one another and their clients. This focus on relationships plays a big role in how she leads and supports her pod every day.
Outside of work, Gretchen enjoys unwinding with puzzles, going for walks, and spending quality time with her family. When it’s time for a getaway, her favorite beach is Edisto Island, South Carolina an ideal spot to relax and recharge.
